Vacuum Assisted Closure 

A topical negative pressure therapy is used to achieve closure of diabetic foot wounds.

 

Closure

• Negative suction of about 125 mm Hg pr.
• Removes secretions by negative suction.
• Improves local microcirculation.
• Improves cellular migration and granulation tissue formation.

The pump applies sub-atmospheric pressure through a tube and foam sponge applied to the ulcer over a dressing and sealed in place with a plastic film. The dressing is replaced every three to five days. Small portable pumps are now available.

With the help of our dedicated paramedic staff, we often manage patients with VAC therapy in domiciliary setup. If required, the team members promptly attend the patients in-home even at late nights.
