Achilles Tendonitis
Condition and Causes
Achilles tendonitis is a condition where the Achilles tendon becomes swollen and inflamed, generally provoked by overuse or arthritis.
Symptoms
Symptoms of Achilles tendonitis include pain in the general heel area as well as the tendon itself. Often, the area is painful and feels stiff in the morning.
Prevention
Stretching exercises to prevent strain and potential injuries to the Achilles tendon. Walking or running on smoother surfaces may aid in preventing strain.
Possible Treatment
You may be recommended cold compresses with stretching excersies in order to help reduce inflammation and prevent further strain and can also be prescribed custom made orthotics.
